"Men of Honor" 1956 Ford Thunderbird

This car was very moving to me @ SEMA 2013; I am not usually crazy about airbrushing on cars in general because it is often a little overdone for my taste but this tribute car was different. The story that it tells of the wounded warriors, the 80 living Medal of Honor recipients and the men of honor that have given so much to protect the country that we all love. It is truly a compelling tribute to the amazing service men of our country.

Mr. Ronald Rains spent countless hours rebuilding this rolling tribute and partnered with well-known airbrush artist Mickey Harris to complete the beautiful mobile mural. Mr. Rains, a veteran himself has given back to veterans in a way that is truly inspiring; from what I read, a selfless man that does everything that he can to support his brothers-in-arms.

On this memorial day, I’d like to personally thank every service man, woman and their families that have given so much to secure the freedoms that we all hold so dear. You are often faceless to society and your individual sacrifices aren’t given enough credit but I want you to know that I appreciate all that you have done and continue to do for this country. I pray for you daily; I pray that you will be safe and that you will be re-joined with you families soon. Having seen the struggle of friends that are on long deployments away from their families and the amazing strength of military wives, I am humbled by your sacrifice and service.

In earnest gratitude,

Michael Banks
