Ran across this beaut’ at the 16th Goodguys Rod & Custom Association Southwest Nationals. I dropped a card in the car hoping that the owner would reach out and sure enough I got an email from Mike regarding his car. It is the type of story that I love to hear, Mike’s grandpa purchased the vehicle new in Palo Alto, CA in 1963. He drove it around Menlo Park, CA till 2005 after several confrontations with aggressive trees ;o). Mike has many fond memories going fishing with his Grandpa in the Dart and has given the car a subtle fishing theme. Mike has done a lot of work to the Dart, much of it to make it look good and drive safely. He dropped it in the rear with blocks and cut a 1/2″ out of the front coils. The vehicle was maintained by his uncle’s shop in Menlo Park so it was well taken care of and is still powered by the original 225 slant six that hasn’t been rebuilt o.O. He re-wired the car, added electronic ignition, shorty headers, a Clifford manifold and a Holly 4 barrel and has a car that is fun to drive but won’t get him in too much trouble. What do you think about what Mike has done to the grille? Personally I dig it and the rest of the car! Thanks for sharing your story and your ride with us all Mike!
